Rob was elected to represent Knowsley ward in Ormskirk in 2000. He is currently Mayor and was also elected as the county councillor for Ormskirk West in 2009. Previously he was a cabinet portfolio holder for Leisure and before that Human Resources and Performance Management. Prior to that he chaired the Development and Leisure Overview & Scrutiny Committee and lead internal reviews of procurement and streetscene.
Representing the ward that covers much of the town centre and Coronation Park, these two areas have been at the forefront of his determination to ensure Ormskirk once again enjoys an attractive and vibrant centre. He has also been very active in aiding constituents with planning issues, street cleansing and weeds.
Originally qualified as a chartered electrical engineer he hold degrees in computer systems engineering, a masters degree in business administration (MBA) from Warwick University and has recently finished a law degree (LLB). Having spent 15 years in engineering and manufacturing management, he now advises Local Authorities on Improving the performance and financial efficiency of their direct services.
