David has lived in Lancashire all of his life, he is married with three grown up sons. He has been a WLBC councilor since 1976 apart from a brief period in the 80s. He has served on all major committees and is currently Chairman of the Lancashire Local. Ten years ago David was elected to Lancashire County Council where he represents Aughton, Downhollhand, Simmonswood, Bickerstake, Altcar and Hallsal as CountyCouncillor for West Lancashire South.
David has recently been made Chairman of the Lancashire Fire Authority and a Director of the new Regional Control Centre for the combined North West Fire and Rescue Services of Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Greater Manchester . He is also a Governor of Ormskirk School.

 David was born in Crosby, educated in Edinburgh, married with one daughter and lives in Halsall. He recently retired as a senior manager with a major high street bank and worked in Ormskirk for the past 19 years and built up an extensive contacts and knowledge of business throughout West Lancashire.
Elected to WLBC for the Aughton & Downholland Ward in 2002, David joined the Cabinet in 2004 and has gained considerable experience by holding the portfolios for Leisure, Community Services, Housing, Refuse & Recycling, Grounds Maintenance and is presently looking after Finance and Performance Management.
Elected to Lancashire County Council for the West Lancashire East Division in June 2009, he is chairman of the Pension Fund and Vice Chairman of the Audit Committee.
He is also a member of Halsall Parish Council and a trustee for a number of local charities.
David is a member of the Rotary Club of Ormskirk, a keen golfer and sailor.

 | Una Atherley - Aughton & Downholland |

Una moved to Aughton 43 years ago and spent most of her working life at Edge Hill University. She has been a member of Aughton Parish Council since 1978 and is a former chairman. In addition, she has been a Governor of St Michael's School in Aughton and is currently a trustee of Ormskirk School.
For six years she was the fund raising secretary of West Lancashire Victim Support Scheme. She is current Chairman of West Lancashire Area Committee of Parish & Town Councils.
Una was elected a District Councillor for the Aughton Ward 1991, was re-elected to the larger Aughton & Downholland ward in 2002 and was elected Chairman of West Lancashire District Council for 2005-06. Since becoming a Councillor, Una has campaigned to ensure the interests of all the residents of Aughton and Downholland.

 Adrian is a 44 year-old businessman from Newburgh. He is married to Jocelyn with a large, young family. Born on the Wirral, Adrian is a science graduate from Trinity College, Cambridge and has pursued a career in manufacturing. He now runs his own business consultancy helping small businesses through the legal minefield of health, safety and environmental matters. Adrian is a practising Christian and spends his free time enjoying time with his family.

Paul was born in 1967 and is originally from Kirkby, where he attended Brookfield Comprehensive School. In 2001, he graduated with honors from Liverpool John Moores University and in 2002 he obtained a Masters Degree from Manchester Metropolitan University. For the last few years, Paul has worked in Psychological research and he has also served as a member of the Independent Monitoring Boards at HMPs Garth and Kennet. David was born in 1939 and is originally from Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. He was educated at Deacons Grammar School and entered the Services as a boy entry. After a successful career, he obtained a commission and served with the United Nations Peace Keeping Service. After leaving the Services David attended Leeds University and obtained a Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked on major marine and structural projects world wide. David joined the Conservative Party in Scotland in the 1960s. He has been married to Christina since 1976 and has two daughters and two grandchildren. He was elected to West Lancashire District Council in 1998.

 | Doreen Stephenson - Halsall |

Doreen was born and educated in Ormskirk. She lives in Shirdley Hill with her husband, John and three children all of whom attended Halsall C of E Primary School. She served 8 years as a Constable in Lancashire Constabulary before joining the family horticultural business. Doreen has followed tradition of her Grand Father and Father who were both Councillors and her brother who is also a Conservative Councillor on WLDC. Doreen serves on a variety of committees within the council and local community groups including Halsall Parish Council. She is also a foundation Governor of Ormskirk Grammar School. During the past two years she has been instrumental in the provision of new play equipment and recycle bins on the Memorial Playing Fields, the refurbishment of St. Aidens Hall and the reinstatement of the bus shelter in Shirdley Hill. She has also initiated and been instumental in setting up the Canal side project to commemorate the building of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Rob was elected to represent Knowsley ward in Ormskirk in 2000. He is currently a cabinet member and portfolio holder for leisure. Previously he was portfolio holder for Human Resources and Performance Management. Prior to that he chaired the Development and Leisure Overview & Scrutiny Committee and lead internal reviews of procurement and streetscene.
Representing the ward that covers much of the town centre and coronation park, these two areas have been at the forefront of his determination to ensure Ormskirk once again enjoys an attractive and vibrant centre. He has also been very active in aiding constituents with planning issues, street cleansing and weeds.
Originally qualified as a chartered electrical engineer he hold degrees in computer systems engineering, a masters degree in business administration (MBA) from Warwick University and has recently finished a law degree (LLB). Having spent 15 years in engineering and manufacturing management, he now advises Local Authorities on Improving the performance and financial efficiency of their direct services.

Peter has lived in and around Ormskirk for his entire life and has always taken a very professional interest in the wellbeing of Ormskirk.
Peter has represented Knowsley ward for seven years along with fellow District Councillors, Val Hopely and Rob Bailey. He is the third generation of his family to serve following both his father and grandfather onto the Council.
Peter is married with four daughters and lives on Asmall Lane. Together with his brother, he runs a small agricultural business.
In recent times Peter has taken a keen interest in planning and supports actions to retain the character of Ormskirk. Coronation park and the town centre owe much of their current rejuvenation to the actions of Peter, Rob and Val in making sure Ormskirk gets its fair share of investment. Street cleansing and grounds maintenance have also improved markedly through his continued pressure for the best services for Ormskirk.

William was born into a local farming family in Scarisbrick. He read Agriculture at the University of London, and went on to do a Master’s degree at Cornell University, USA. On returning to the UK, he became an R&D Manager for a national food company in Cambridge.
He returned to Scarisbrick to farm on his father’s retirement, and quickly became involved with the local Parish Council, West Lancashire Conservatives (where he served as Vice Chairman and Chairman in due course), was elected to West Lancs BC and more recently Lancashire CC, representing the West Lancs West division. He remains a member of all three councils.
He currently serves as a school governor of Pinfold Primary and Burscough Priory Science College and recently was appointed to the Lancashire Combined Police Authority. William was elected Chairman of West Lancs Borough Council in 2007/8, supported by his wife Susan as Chairman’s Lady, which they both enjoyed immensely.

Cyril has represented Scott Ward for the last seven years and before that was a Councillor for the Knowsley Ward for eight years. He is a retired engineer who is married to Maureen and they have grandchildren. He was a school governor at Asmall Lane School, a Cub Scout leader with the 37th Ormskirk Group for eighteen years and a founder member of the P.T.A. at St Annes School.
Cyril has been involved in Westend Park refurbishment with the Park getting a new play area and equipment.
Cyril was the final Chairman of the Council in 2008/09 and visited many organisations in West Lancashire raising funds for small charitable organisations.
He was the first Conservative Councillor to be elected in Scott Ward for many years but has now been joined by David Meadows and Geoff Hammond who together look after the residents interests.

Peter was born and bred in Lancashire, qualified as an accountant and spent his working life as an Investment Advisor. In recent years he has been heavily involved in charity and has for ten years he has been a member of the Business Committee of Childline North West.
Peter has lived in West Lancashire for some Forty years, first being elected to the Council in 1974. He subsequently moved to Appley Bridge and set up a retirement and nursing home with his wife and family.
He was subsequently elected to the Wrightington & Appley Bridge ward which was then enlarged to cover Roby Mill and the northern part of UpHolland.
Peter is an active councillor and chairs the town twinning association. He is currently working with the council to find a solution to improve parking facilities at Mossfiled in Wrightington and the railway station in Appley Bridge. Flooding remains an issue and Peter is pressing to ensure that the Environment Agency honours its duties and provides protection to local residents.

Michael lives in Appley Bridge and is married to Victoria, whose family have lived in the area for generations. Born in Blackburn, Michael grew up in Burnley and after studying and working in London, and then overseas, he returned to settle in Lancashire in 2004. Originally trained as an investment analyst, Michael is now Deputy Operations Director for The Football League. His interests include outdoor pursuits and being a football referee, which he does most weekends serving junior and senior football clubs in the local area. Michael studied Management at the London School of Economics and read for an International Masters degree in Sport at the University of Neuchatel in Switzerland.  | Carolyn Evans - County Councillor for Skelmersdale East |

 Carolyn has lived in Lancashire all her life. She is a widow, and has two children. She was a West Lancashire district councillor for a brief period in 2002. She is a trustee director of the West Lancashire Citizens Advice Bureau based in Skelmersdale. She also serves as a governor of Mossy Lea primary school and UpHolland High School. She is deputy chair of adult services scrutiny committee and also sits on the childrens' services committee at County Hall.

 Ian is the current leader of the Group at WLBC and leader of the Council. He was elected as a councillor for Aughton Park ward in 1992 and has been a councillor at the borough and the parish since then. A past portfolio holder in regeneration and planning he brings to the Council an experience in local politics along with being a school governor and past member of the PCT. He has lived with his family in the Borough for over 50 years as well as working as a solicitor in the Borough . He sits on a number of committees in Lancashire to promote the interests of the area.

 May has represented Parbold on the Borough council since 1996. She has served as a Parish Councillor for a similar time. She is currently the Borough Council's Champion for Older People and sits on the Lancashire Local Committee. She is vice chairman of the Local Strategic Partnership Executive and a governor of two local schools. She is also a trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau.
