COUNCILLORS are asking residents on a Burscough housing estate for their views over road safety.
Cllr Jason Grice and County Cllr William Cropper have sent surveys to residents on the Manor Estate after they were approached by families concerned about speeding cars in the area, particularly on Manor Road and Manor Avenue.
The seven-question survey asks a range of questions including whether the increase in ‘on street’ parking has made it more dangerous for children to play out, and whether they think there should be a 20 mph limit.
Cllr Jason Grice, Conservative Borough Councillor for Burscough West, said: “Residents have approached us highlighting concerns about road safety, especially because there are a lot of children in the area.
“Some of them are also worried about the number of cars parked on the road, making it difficult for drivers to see some younger children when they attempt to cross the road.”
Local County Cllr William Cropper said: “It is important residents give us their views and ideas on how they think we can make the area safer for everyone.
“We really need local families to fill in the survey and give us their opinions so we can make a firm case to the County Council.”
