The association is run by its principal Officers and Executive Committee. The current Association Chairman is Ruth Melling. Further details of our officers are available here.
The Association has branches throughout the constituency. Currently we have Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Aughton, Lathom & Burscough, Parbold, Scarisbrick, Wrightington & Up Holland and Conservative Future. Our Branches and Association as a whole have a thriving social, as well as, political life. You can take a look at our planned events here. We take our politics seriously, but we're determined to have fun at the same time.
The Patrons Club is made up of individual members who through their generous support of the Association qualify for a number of benefits. As part of their subscription they can attend two major functions during the year at no extra cost and in the past has included the opportunity to meet and talk with key figures in the Conservative Party.
The 200 Club consists of approximately 200 individuals who, for a small subscription take part in a monthly draw throughout the year with cash prizes of up to £200. This is an easy way of supporting the Conservative Party in West Lancashire and having the chance of winning a cash prize in return.
The Disraeli Club brings together people who love debating and arguing about politics and current affairs. The club meets over a meal and a glass of wine each month through the winter.
Conservative Future is the movement for under 30s, including all members of the Conservative Party of this age.
As you would expect the principal activity of the Association is to campaign for the Conservative Party at a Local, National and European level. The Conservatives are in control of West Lancashire Borough Council with 28 seats out of 54. We also have 6 county councillors in our district since the elections in 2009.
